Stamina, telegraphs, five spells, Concentration

Stamina combat

Party fighting a forest elite with stamina bar, fire ring, and named ally Harald.
ss-wildwood-fight: stamina bar, fire ring, ally Harald.

Steam calls Dimraeth combat Souls-lite: manage stamina, read enemy telegraphs, then strike, dodge, block, or parry. The five-spell loadout sits on top of that stamina bar, not instead of it. Official campfire UI also prints Concentration beside health and stamina, so at least one recovery or meal loop spends a third resource. The Wildwood fight still shows a stamina bar, a fire ring, and a named ally Harald. Poise values, frame data, and extra resources are unpublished. Parry exists both as that verb and as a named Physical row on the closed demo table, which is a reminder some defensive tools may also occupy a spell slot.

VerbMeaning
StrikeThe about copy lists strike as the spend after you read a telegraph, while stamina lasts. The Wildwood still shows the stamina bar over a live elite, so the pool is on the fight HUD, not only in flavor text. Named hunts such as Aelwynor and Woldroot the Path Guardian use this same spend; there is no separate boss resource.
DodgeDodge is the second listed verb. Dash is a Physical row on the closed demo table and may have been folded into class kits; the live evidence is still a stamina bar you spend to leave a telegraph window. Forest-clash’s Minotaur fire arc is the kind of wide orange tell you dodge through rather than a hidden iframe dump of every elite.
BlockBlock sits in the same four-verb list. No official poise table or stamina-cost spreadsheet is published, so treat block as a stamina spend that keeps you in the telegraph rather than a numbered damage formula. The extras banner Fight, adapt, and evolve is marketing language for that same loop during Early Access.
ParryParry is both that verb and a named Physical row on the closed demo spell table, so some defensive tools may also occupy a five-spell slot. Until a patch prints frame data, parry is the read-then-spend answer to an orange tell. Bounty Hunter’s ten mini-bosses and Blob Slayer’s monstrous droop still use this verb list.

stamina

Printed on the Wildwood fight still. It gates strike, dodge, block, and parry. Vanguard (Minotaur Brawler) is the named pairing that gains stamina while leveling Strength, which is why archetype choice changes how this bar feels.

telegraphs

The forest-clash still of a Minotaur swinging a fire arc and the Wildwood fire ring around an elite are the visual language: wide orange tells, then a window. Elite timings are unpublished. Bounty Hunter’s ten mini-bosses, Blob Slayer’s monstrous droop, Uprooted’s Woldroot the Path Guardian, and The Hart of the Forest’s Aelwynor all use this same read step.

five-spell

Steam about copy equips five spells at a time from race kits, class kits, and crafted spellbooks. That loadout sits on top of the stamina bar, not instead of it. Light Reading finds the first ruined spellbook. Do not assume every spell spends Concentration.

Concentration

The Campfire cooking UI prints Concentration beside health and stamina, with Burrow Broth and throwflasks on the same board. No numeric cap is shown. Treat it as a camp resource until a fight HUD shows it. Green Thumb harvests feed this rest screen from the Sanctum farm.

Who shares the bar

Harald
Named ally on the Wildwood fight still. A New Ally recruits the first NPC to the Sanctum; Sanctum Society recruits five.
Pets
Faithful Companion unlocks one pet; Nine Lives unlocks nine. The magic-burst still shows a blue bird in a spell-and-cleave encounter.
Co-op players
Up to seven other players on the host world. Your stamina-using hero brings spells and gear; their Sanctum stays behind.

Why keep fighting after 25

Cutting Teeth
Complete a tiered deed at tier 1. Repeatable, not a one-shot story flag.
Tier Pusher
Push a tiered deed to tier 3. This is the published endgame language in place of a DPS meter.
Seasoned Veteran
Level 25, the Early Access cap. Deeds are the reason to keep reading telegraphs after that gate.

How a fight actually reads

Read the telegraph, spend stamina on strike, dodge, block, or parry, and keep five spells ready. Concentration is a camp resource on the cooking UI until a fight HUD shows it. Pets and recruited allies share the encounter even in solo: Harald is named on the Wildwood still, and the magic-burst still’s blue bird already sits beside a fire cleave. Deeds (Cutting Teeth, Tier Pusher) are the repeatable reason to keep doing that after Seasoned Veteran at level 25. Mini-bosses for Bounty Hunter and named bosses such as Aelwynor and Woldroot use the same stamina verbs as a random Wildwood elite. For hosting rules and the not-an-MMO line, use the co-op page. For which pairing changes stamina incentives, Vanguard’s Strength bonus lives on the archetypes matrix. Poise values, frame data, and extra fight resources beyond the printed bars are unpublished. Meals and flasks on the Campfire board likely restore or spend Concentration, but the cooking UI does not print a numeric cap. Pair that rest screen with Green Thumb’s first harvest and the farm still of chicken coops and quarry plots: food comes from Sanctum production into the same loop. A later patch that prints stamina costs or poise belongs in this table with a version stamp; until then the verbs stay strike, dodge, block, parry, five spells, and Concentration at camp. Co-op adds up to seven other players on the host world without changing those verbs.
