Eight-player co-op

Three named players fighting a purple cave boss.
Three named players on a purple cave boss.

Dimraeth co-op is drop-in for up to eight players. It is not an MMO: the official FAQ says you play solo or with friends, not among hundreds of random players. One player hosts on peer-to-peer. There are no dedicated servers, no private servers, and no local split-screen. Hero level, equipment, inventory, and spells travel with you; story, recruited allies, and buildings stay on the host world. You can finish the game solo. Hosting, joining, and split persistence follow those FAQ and store rules.

Player cap

1-8 drop-in

Including you. The purple cave-boss still shows three named players on one elite, which is a real session size, not a screenshot of eight. Dimraeth is not an MMO: you play solo or with friends, not among hundreds of random players. Solo finishes Act 1; a full eight is a cap, not a requirement. Recruited allies and pets fill encounters when no human is in the session. Bounty Hunter, story quests, and deeds do not require a full lobby.

Hosting

Peer-to-peer, no dedicated server

One player hosts. The host machine is the world; when that player logs off, the instance ends for the night while travelling heroes keep levels and gear. Discord looking-for-group at discord.gg/dimraeth is the board; bugs go to bug-reports. Emails are info@mudtek.dev and support@dimraeth.com. There is no in-FAQ LFG tool and no server browser. If a session is full at eight, you wait or host your own world and accept that buildings will not merge. Couch split-screen and private-server rental are not offered.

Inputs

Keyboard, mouse, gamepad

FAQ lists keyboard and mouse, gamepad, and a WASD-plus-mouse hybrid. Steam lists full controller support including DualShock and DualSense. Windows is the only platform object set true; Mac and Linux are false. Steam Deck is FAQ-claimed and store Unknown. Treat Deck as unverified on the store page until Valve or Mudtek change that field. Steam Cloud, Stats, and Family Sharing are listed; Cloud keeps the travelling hero’s inventory across machines and does not host a world.

Languages

Eight store languages

Early Access lists English, Portuguese-Brazil, Simplified Chinese, German, Russian, Spanish-Latin America, Korean, and Japanese. The FAQ line that still says English and Simplified Chinese only is stale against that store list. Pairings still interact in a mixed group: character-creation news uses Earthshaker as a Burning engine next to a Human Mage stacking fire.

Travels with the hero

Level and Seasoned Veteran progress
Hero level travels between worlds, including the path to Seasoned Veteran at 25.
Equipment
A Lifebloom Polished Band that is gear on the hero goes with you.
Inventory and spells
Spellbooks and the five equipped spells travel. You can bring a Fireball slot into a friend’s Goblin Caves, then leave their Long Live the King progress behind. Host on the world whose buildings you want to keep.

Stays on the host world

Story flags
Village in Crisis staying complete is a flag on that world. Goblin king progress does not follow you home.
Recruited allies
Sanctum Society’s five NPCs and A New Ally stay where you recruited them.
Buildings
Chicken coops, a waypoint, and Industrialist’s seven production buildings stay on the host Sanctum. Two friends cannot merge those ledgers.

Host on the world you want to keep

Drop-in supports eight players on a peer-to-peer host. Solo still finishes Act 1. Your levels, gear, and spells travel; story, allies, and buildings stay. Discord looking-for-group is how people meet because there is no server browser. A full eight is a cap, not a requirement; three named players on the cave-boss still is a real session size. Steam Deck remains Unknown on the store despite the FAQ claim. Windows is the only listed OS. DualShock and DualSense flags are on; couch split-screen is absent. Steam Cloud keeps the travelling hero, not the host world. You can clear Lost Caverns and stand up a Sanctum before anyone joins. Recruited allies and pets fill fights when no human is in the session. If two friends both care about Industrialist, they are on different building ledgers unless they play on the same host world. Family Sharing does not create extra dedicated instances. The extras banner Play with friends is literal: matchmaking is social, Steam friends, or people you already play with.

What a mixed group actually brings

Co-op stills and the Earthshaker Burning-engine example in character-creation news are reminders that pairings interact. A Minotaur Magician and a Human Mage stacking fire is an official co-op picture, not a theorycraft sheet. For pairing choice open archetypes; for stamina during those stacked fights open combat; for the Sanctum you cannot take with you open the Sanctum page. Equipment such as a Lifebloom Polished Band travels because it is gear on the hero. Levels toward Seasoned Veteran travel. Chicken coops, a waypoint, and five recruited NPCs stay in the host Sanctum. Village in Crisis staying complete is a story flag on that world. Eight players can drop onto a cave-boss still; they cannot merge two Industrialist ledgers. Peer-to-peer hosting makes the host’s uptime the raid calendar. Steam languages for a mixed group follow the store’s eight-language list, not the older FAQ pair. You can finish the campaign without friends; bring a group for the cave-boss still, not because Act 1 is withheld from solo. Host on the world whose buildings you want to keep after the session ends.
