Human, Minotaur, Elf × Brawler, Magician, Shadow
8 races and 6 classes
Steam marketing still promises 8 races and 6 classes, a 48-archetype grid for 1.0. Early Access ships a 3x3: Human, Minotaur, and Elf with Brawler, Magician, and Shadow. Magician is the official-site class name; the launch post says Mage for the same slot. Named pairings from character-creation news include Vanguard (Minotaur Brawler), Earthshaker (Minotaur Magician), and Elemental Ranger (Human Mage). Fairy is named as a future staff caster, not a live race. Filter the board by race, class, or availability so the 1.0 row does not hide the nine playable pairings.
Human Brawler
EA pairing. Human kit is bow and blade in launch-day coverage; Brawler is the official-site frontline tab. No published nickname, so the matrix keeps Human Brawler.

Nine live cells, 48 on the poster
Human, Minotaur, and Elf are the playable races in the September post. Official-site portraits and banners already showed Minotaur, Human, Magician, and Brawler before Elf and Shadow joined. Shadow is the new EA class, described in official Reddit replies as damage-over-time and debuffs rather than a second Brawler. Brawler is the frontline tab. Magician is the official-site caster tab; the launch post says Mage for the same slot. Combining those three by three yields nine live pairings, not forty-eight. The extras banner that still says choose from 8 races and 6 classes is the 1.0 sentence, and the availability filter marks Fairy and any later races that way. Named kits help tell the nine apart: Vanguard is Minotaur Brawler with bonus stamina while leveling Strength; Earthshaker is Minotaur Magician, used in co-op talk as a Burning engine; Elemental Ranger is Human Mage converting existing fire into single-target nukes. Elf is first-party in the EA news. Human Shadow, Minotaur Shadow, and Elf Shadow have no published nicknames yet, so the matrix keeps race-plus-class labels until a patch names them.
Creation, XP, and the pinned skill tree
Character creation includes race, class, persona, and appearance. Persona is a creation axis, not a fourth combat class. Appearance options were shown in the character-creation news without a published numeric slider table. Once you leave creation, attribute levels cost XP, and those costs depend on the pairing: a Minotaur buying Strength for Vanguard stamina is not priced like a Human Mage buying caster attributes. The pinned still shows Skill Tree and Spellbook tabs with 8 points already spent, so you spend into a per-archetype tree rather than one global list. Race spells and class spells feed the five-spell loadout on the spells page. Do not expect the 46 demo names to appear as live tree labels; several demo rows are race-tagged Earth or Rage kits that may have been rebuilt. Fairy is a staff-wielding caster named in the November 2025 character-creation post for the 1.0 roster, not one of the three EA races; hide it with the availability filter and do not spend EA skill points on it. The five marketed races that are not Human, Minotaur, or Elf stay off this grid. Sanctum crafting and pet unlocks are independent of which 3x3 cell you picked, aside from those XP costs. Use the race chips (Human, Minotaur, Elf, Fairy) and class chips (Brawler, Magician, Shadow) above the matrix; availability chips separate Early Access from 1.0-only, and the count label shows how many of the ten rows remain. Compare pins two live pairings into a two-column parchment spread with race, class, and the specimen note. After you pick a cell, the five-spell bar and the Sanctum benches are the same systems for every pairing. If you need combat context, read stamina and telegraphs on the combat page, then come back to pick a pairing. The banner-races extra is the 48-archetype poster; the skill-tree still pinned beside the matrix is the live UI evidence. Shadow’s three pairings stay labelled Human Shadow, Minotaur Shadow, and Elf Shadow until a later patch publishes nicknames; the name field can move without adding new URLs. Official-site class tabs already named Magician and Brawler before Elf and Shadow joined the September post, so the matrix rows are the live set rather than a planner for the 48-cell poster. Pin two Early Access pairings in Compare when you want race, class, and specimen notes side by side instead of another paragraph. Fairy stays on a single extra row under the matrix so the 3x3 does not treat it as live.
